Author Biographies

Viviana Morales Naranjo, Universidad de las Américas (Ecuador)

Viviana Morales Naranjo is a lawyer from the Universidad Central del Ecuador, Master in Environmental Law from the University Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne, Master in Constitutional Procedural Law from the Universidad de Las Américas and PhD in Law from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, Ecuador. He teaches constitutional law and environmental law at the Universidad de Las Américas and at several postgraduate universities in Ecuador.

Álvaro Orbea

Álvaro Orbea is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Master in City Design from the London School of Economics, United Kingdom, Master in Administrative Law from the Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales, Ecuador, and holds a diploma in Energy Transitions to address climate change from the Universidad EAN, Colombia. He is a legal and urban researcher and consultant, and an expert in urban development and local governments. He has worked as a consultant on housing and cities for the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank, and was a researcher for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation on smart cities and structural challenges in Ecuador. He has extensive experience providing technical advice on governance, urban law and urban planning to local governments, as well as in the development of government plans for political campaigns.
