Abstract

Why do we act in a certain way? What mechanisms have been used to shape our behavior? Michel Foucault presents a detailed description of how discipline has been applied in controlling the body through various mechanisms that continue to respond to the project of modernity: the control of nature –which results in the creation of a number of devices used to control the corporeality and insert it within the functioning of a type of society that is increasingly going further from its roots.
